ClassDojo vs. Newsela

ClassDojo is a great platform to use in elementary classrooms for encouraging positive behaviors and tracking all kinds of them when they are happening. It rewards students and is easy to use on iPad. It is also great for taking attendance each day.

Newsela is a valuable resource for creating individualized learning opportunities and assessments. Instead of every student receiving the same assignment, teachers can tailor tasks to individuals' learning needs and goals. Additionally, teachers can tailor subjects and topics to students' interests, which promotes engagement and enthusiasm. This flexibility matters for teachers with a wide range of levels, interests, and abilities in their classrooms.

• Require offline download, hence this can be used in rural areas. When the study materials are published the app just downloads them and keep it ready. Hence when the child does the online learning the bandwidth is saved
• Inbox needs to be improved with features
• Needs more pictorial icon for small kids who are in KG etc etc

Newsela is easy to use, and the assignments are fairly simple to assign. The supplemental activities are engaging.

Classtag allows teachers to earn points for interacting on their platform. Teachers use points to purchase things in their store. Although this is a nice feature on that platform, you also have a lot of ads that pop up. I like classdojo because your not overwhelmed by ads, its user friendly and most actions can be completed through a few clicks.

Newsela has more features than Achieve3000. It offers more opportunities to differentiate instruction and tailor activities to individual students. It also offers more subjects/topics for teachers to provide to students; this large selection of articles helps diversify lessons in classrooms with multiple levels and student interests.
