CourseArc vs. SkyPrep Studio

CourseArc allows nearly anyone the ability to build attractive, accessible, interactive products. The platform is easy to use, has some great features and allows access to courses a variety of ways, via LTI with an LMS, open public courses, or packaged into SCORMs for access via non-LTI functional LMSs or via a webpage. CourseArc does need to enhance their image library. Because their library is very limited, users do have to upload their images the majority of the time.

• Easier access to course settings would be helpful
• The included image library is the least impressive part of the system. You will need to upload nearly all images.
• Some jumping on the page after saving

The learning curve is much easier and I don’t have to worry as much about the 508 compliance quality of our outputs. Knowing that most components are natively compliant frees my mind from worry and my time from checking our products with a fine tooth comb. I can now perform spot checks and remain confident that we are ‘legal’.

• CourseArc has reduced product build labor hours by at least 30%.
• It has reduced quality control ‘redos’ for accessibility issues by more than 50%.
• Staff feedback has been phenomenal. They are delighted with the build department’s work in this platform.
