Courseplay (LMS, LXP and PMS) vs. UpGrad

Courseplay was a good tool for delivery professional development training to school district staff over the internet. We were able to get through our annual courses in 2020 and 2021 with little difficulty. I would not use Courseplay for regular or more formal meetings. For our purposes, the cost was pretty minimal.

1. Gives you holistic learning with a combination of lectures and assignments
2. Can be accessed via website and mobile application
3. You can download videos and watch them later
4. Overall it is a cost-effective tool
5. Their video player needs a lot of improvement. It keeps on buffering a lot and use a lot of data. Some additional features could be provided like fast-forwarding videos by 5 or 10 seconds

• The courses library is too exhaustive
• It has partnerships with few of the most reputed universities in India and Globally
• Its a cost effective tool
• Provides the feature to download courses and watch later

• APIs only available upon request.
• Does not mesh well with Tableau.
• Android app is not always reliable.

• The video player needs improvement

Courseplay has features that are designed specifically for content-delivery and educational situations. Zoom and other video chat applications don't offer features like gamification or user reports. The cost per user is also relatively low compared to similar services. A higher ownership cost would have probably driven us to make something like Zoom or WebEx work instead.

1. It is relatively cheaper than Bjyu's which was a major deciding factor for going ahead with upGrad
2. UpGrad has partnerships with better universities in India and Globally as well
3. Their marketing team is better than Bjyu's
4. The mentor support provided during the course helps complete the courses faster and understand them better

• We were able to deliver training courses in about 80% of the time vs in-person.
• Free trial period allowed us to evaluate without risk.
• Employees with proper training perform better.
