Time series analysis. The built-in vector operations are extremely fast. Also with the q language you can code up any customized analytical ideas quickly.
The database are all file based, very easy to maintain.
Very solid and fast interface to websocket, so you can interface with javascript easily.

It allows to have only one security log dashboard, we dont have to connect to a lot of firewall we can summarize quickly global issues. We got a lot of native reports that could be used. As we had a lot of clusters, we can create specific perimeter and allows specific perimeter to tiers people and allow them to check logs if they want

FortiAnalyzer stacks up as one for the best solutions and comes in at an affordable price point when talking education budgets. We've have looked at other solutions but ultimately the ecosystem we prefer to use is Fortinet. This ecosystem meets out everchanging needs well without having to change our internal procedures dramatically.

Python is very commonly used for large data analysis and in general is much easier to pickup than kdb+. The biggest drawback of kdb+ is the learning curve.
