IBM Cognos Dashboard Embedded vs. Logi Report

During the project development phase it becomes easier to visualize the code development in almost real time with charts and drop down and drag and drop features makes it really easy for the effective development process during different phases of the project. Dashboard itself is of great help with features like drag and drop and visualize the artifacts in real time as we are developing those. It wouldn't be very effective with high massive coding and huge coding projects as we may encounter performance issues.

JReport is well suited to enterprise-wide deployment such as we deliver in our data warehouse solution JOHO OneSource(TM). It provides for a seamless end-user experience to enterprise-wide corporate data, maintain user-level security regardless of location or device used. Reporting elements are always "business-friendly", reducing confusion for the less sophisticated information consumer. Since JReport is highly scalable, it is hard to imagine a deployment where it would not be well suited. The only case I can think of is possibly one where there are limited or no reporting staff onsite to create report elements.

• How to do guide and there is definitely more training opportunity that company can offer
• Performance improvements can make the tool more efficient
• Can be more open to accept the external files

• Initially, the product lacked some features but their support team reacted quickly to meet our needs.
• The JReport desktop designer looks a bit dated, however, the Web GUI looks very modern.

Lower costs—reduces maintenance due to complete report coverage and a zero-footprint environment. Ability to create complex, multi-page layouts using different data sources. Multiple export formats—Excel, Portable Document Format (PDF), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), and Comma Separated Value (CSV).

We have been using Logi Report for many years. We did review Microsoft PowerBI recently and are currently considering if it will meet our needs. We are still evaluating at the moment.

• Effectively solves the project blockers by mitigating the integration challanges
• Monetary impact is not negatively impacted on the projects budgets
• Great ROI and positive impact on the business because of breath of features and great dashboard features

• Create reports in various formats
• Would like to see a longer listing of reports per screen on the scheduler in JReport Server/Admin Console as we have a lot of reports we run.
