IBM Kubecost vs. Profound vs. vRealize Suite & vCloud Suite (discontinued)

We have a Kubernetes cluster spread across multiple cloud providers, including AWS, Google, and Azure. Kubecost consolidates data from all the providers and gives us insights. So instead of jumping between individual dashboards, Kubecost shows everything in one place. It helps us in right-sizing the cluster, which directly saves us costs. Although it gives us cluster insights, we still need to take action manually. It also provides insight into the Kube cluster only, but actual costs depend on other components as well, including databases, storage, etc.

Profound is a great AEO platform, with so much information and insights available around what competitors are doing and what prospects are searching for, and how we are cited. The down side is also just too much information and without enough resources or a full time person using the platform, it's difficult to know what to prioritize

It is most suited where there multi cloud platform as VCloud suite provides most 2 important licences i.e. Vsphere 9India's leading hypervisor) and Vrealize Suite which helps to automate and also simplies IT management by making the solution most agile, efficient and easy to use. If there is a simple environment with just few servers where there is need for only 2-3 VMs, i will not recommend this.

• There is nothing exactly like cons but one must should check all the features, it can be confusing at the times.
• It can be expensive as compared to some other products available in the market.

Our engineers liked the devops dashboard and the initial deployment was very fast which meant the cost-allocation data was available right after deployment which the team further customized and enhanced based on our needs. Version 3.0 fixed a lot of concerns with the backend responsiveness, especially when running heavy multi-cluster api calls

Profound tracks A LOT of data, which is great, but it can also be overwhelming to look at/digest all the raw data without their internal measurements.

Among competitors, IBM Kubecost offers deeper insights into cluster metrics. It offers the highest data privacy, as the data stays in your private infrastructure. Although it can't provide Non-K8s cost insights, it still offers some insights based on tags, which is better than any other product.

Semrush is much more mature for SEO but lacks the focus needed to be effective for AEO. Because Profound is build for AEO from the ground up, all of the associated features are optimized to be useful for AEO (for example focusing purely on topic visibility). SEMRush's AI Search tools feel a bit muddled in the system they have set up for SEO

VCloud mostly provides cloud management platform, all others also provide the same plus some other features so, Vcloud can be little less expensive in comparison to other solutions available in market. Also, it's very easy to use and deploy and manage your cloud platform. It is widely used by mid scale as well as large scale companies.

• Given that we are going through a cloud transformation journey, IBM Kubecost has helped reduce the infra cost by up to 20% by detecting any wrong configuration early in the process
• It also helped us determine the idle and orphaned resources that we could cleanup to save costs

• Positive only- Vrealize suite helps is IT automation by making it cost-effective and efficient.
• Less time is consumed by our IT administrators because of Automating process and they can do better monitoring
• It can be really cost effective for if any company wants to make private cloud. It did the same with us as through vCloud we get all the VMware software required.
