Impero Remote Manager (discontinued) vs. TSPlus

Where we use the Impero Remote Manager is in a school setting and it works really well for us. We have our teachers use it every day to make sure their students are always on track. It works really well for students that we know are likely to get off track. We can see their screen and know exactly when they get off track and can get them back on track quickly.

It is useful in all the cases where users have to work via rdp. The possibility of making available to users only the applications they need is very useful. However, it is less appropriate in environments where there is a need for large computing power such as design studios. It would require a hardware requirement that is too economically high to be justified

• It crashes frequently, so that could be fixed.
• The ability to take over a student's screen could be a little easier as well.

• The custom client doesn't always work with all applications, I solved it by configuring connections with classic RDP on individual PCs
• the procedure for activating and renewing the licenses was not very clear to me, I went by trial and error but in the end I was able to activate it
• nothing else in particular, everything works in a simple and intuitive way

The support for Impero Remote Manager is actually really good and I have been pleased every time I have had to work with them. Any time I've had an issue with the software, I've been able to call support and have the issue resolved very quickly and things start working again.

In overall features and what LanSchool can do, we actually like that product better than Impero. The reason why we went with Impero was because of the price. It has similar features but ultimately was a lot cheaper, so we chose Impero. We are a small charter school, so our budget is a lot smaller than in other school districts.

It is much easier to manage and implement. Even if it is not very intuitive the management of licenses is still better than that of the Remote Desktop environment of Microsoft. With Microsoft, the limit is the ability to simply access the remote desktop, while with TS Plus you can manage individual applications so as to give the user only the tools he needs.
