Leap vs. SharpeSoft Estimator

Leap (formerly JobProgress) helped us automate and simply our processes. We chose it over competitors because we were able to customize it to the different service offerings we provided - other platforms seem to be designed for one type of service or another making them problematic. We were able to reduce the number of software providers we use and integrate others that we were using separately. It is designed well to track [potential] jobs, but it does not work well for tracking business development opportunities.

SharpeSoft [is] designed to be a day-to-day hard-bid estimating program. It is easy to learn and use, yet very powerful. I would not recommend this product to hourly service providers.

• Handles complex bid formats and bid submittal structures such as using bid alternates and non-tax bid schedules.
• This software is one of the easiest programs to learn and effectively use.
• This software is reasonably priced, but very powerful.
• Project support is timely, intimate, local and professional.

• Lists populate differently (e.g., alphabetical vs. order they were created)

• They need to put a search bar in the item master list so you can easily find work items.
• They could make the alternate package easier to use.
• The should find a way to allow the user to define at least one cost type in the program.

Had to reach out to support several times because interface is not intuitive and help files are sparse

We evaluated close to ten other platforms including Dataforma, Job Nimbus, AccuLynx, Propeller, FCS, etc., but chose Leap (formerly JobProgress) because of the flexibility it offered - customize our service offerings and how jobs flow through our process, automation through the process, integration with other vendors, and ease of use for the office and field.

I think SharpeSoft is the best estimating product on the market for our type of work. It is reasonably priced and is very reliable. We have had very few problems with the software and the upgrades and support staff and reliable.

• Using SharpeSoft has grown our business by allowing us to accurately bid more projects.
