Sophos Intercept X for Server vs. Trend Micro Deep Discovery

Licensing is incredibly easy to renew - and to adjust based on usage. The interface of cloud-based management is fantastic and easy to navigate as well. Syncs up with Active Directory to get users/security groups and such for easily differentiating policies to various users. Being able to pinpoint exactly where a threat infiltrated a system (what it talked to once it did so) is a massive feature in responding to online threats. Depending on deployment size - the cost could be an issue for some smaller organizations.

I think Trend Micro Deep Discovery will be suitable for every system, but considering its cost, companies that will want to work in this scenario will usually have systems with multiple branches, multiple clients, and systems that host many independent platforms and communication methods - protocols. In summary, if you have a medium to large structure and you cannot protect this structure because you cannot monitor it in every area, you definitely need this product.

• Sever lockdown does not have a way to see what is blocked in real time.

Support is generally great, however, they can be a bit more flexible and faster to respond. Considering I have purchased a few hundred licenses, I think my support desk deserves to be at least able to schedule calls with the support, which is not always the case. Apart from that, they are always helpful, knowledgeable and have, so far, resolved any and all issues that we have been needing help with.

When you use Trend Micro Deep Discovery, it feels like you are running the SOC team of a company like Trend Micro in your own office. Other companies can also provide this, but the feeling it gives feels like they are providing service by phone from a distant city.
