What is CenturyLink Private Cloud?
CenturyLink® Private Cloud on VMware Cloud Foundation™ is a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) solution that brings VMware’s vSphere®, vSAN™ and NSX® into a natively integrated stack, delivering enterprise grade, globally available hyper-converged-infrastructure based on HPE® with CenturyLink automation and management capabilities for a consistent operational experience across cloud environments. CenturyLink Private Cloud helps boost application performance, minimize latency and bottlenecks, and improve application interaction and response time.
Unlike legacy data center designs where services are dependent to physical infrastructure, the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), services are abstracted and decoupled from hardware. This allows a new level of operational efficiency and agility because resources can span across data centers, and we take care of the operational management of Cloud Foundation. Focus on delivering IT innovation to the business and not operational tasks.
• Click and Build – Self-service capabilities with web-based portals you can present to end users
• Micro-Segmentation – firewall and network for every application you have with a discrete firewall policy
• Migrate and build with ease – separation of features from hardware means you can easily deploy on pre-defined validated hardware
• Adaptive Networking – Expansive, secure global network
• Automation and Out-Tasking – Access to consulting expertise and a comprehensive managed services

Decent cloud hosting platform that almost no one knows about
CenturyLink Private Cloud is a decent cloud hosting platform, we used it because we wanted to try something new as our old platform had some scaling issues. We were not disappointed. However it does have some maintenance issues, but I feel those are nominal and overall I'd neglect those if the pricing is right.
- robust framework
- amazing customer support in case you're facing maintenance issues
- collaborative ability is off the charts
- UI can be really improved, since it sometimes lags a lot
- Very few know about the product, so they should advertise a bit more
- There maybe scaling issues since it's a relatively smaller company compared to its competitors
