I basically use it to create my brief and outlines that I give to my writer for writing an SEO-optimised blog for ranking on Google. overall a decent product.

Pros

  • SEO research
  • Blog Writing
  • Ai Writing
  • Brief creation

Cons

  • The user interface
  • The pricing bit
  • Lot of bugs in content brief, please check.

Well suited for blog writing but there are a lot of other competitors as well in the market, but you should also try other competitors like Scalenut, etc. before buying a tool. My personal thought is that it is a good tool for intermediate SEO writers not for advanced writers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Working with freelance authors is a reality when you need to scale a blog with subject matter experts. And, as many SEOs can attest, it's HARD to teach freelance writers to keyword optimize what they're writing without sounding like awkward robots. Enter Clearscope. I was skeptical of Clearscope at first as a veteran SEO content writer. Then, I started seeing results. Our freelancers were producing content that only needed minor keyword tweaks, and we're ranking better than the ones I was hand optimizing. Not only did this free up quite a bit of my time and brain power, but it also made re-optimization and updating articles a breeze. Then, it just kept getting better! Clearscope has added so much neat functionality over the years without losing its original charm. I can still get that rush from an A++ rating, but the keyword recommendations are bounds and leaps better than they were 5 years ago. Keyword research is more intuitive and robust than some top SEO programs out there. AND it's easy to use. Training takes a few hours, and then your writers can run with it. I've ported Clearscope over to 3 companies so far, and recommend it to anyone doing content marketing. It's the first tool I ask for when I start a new position and honestly haven't found anything better. (At this price point or anywhere else.)

Pros

  • Keyword Research
  • Semantic SEO
  • Content Keyword Optimization

Cons

  • It would be great to have the functionality to go back and re-run a report to update the score given real-time search results in the event of a massive algorithm update.

Clearscope shines if you're using freelance writers or even just need a way to easily keyword optimize long-form content. While it can be used for marketing pages, I've found it does best with longer-form blog content in the hands of writers. So, if you have inexperienced writers or those less savvy/comfortable about SEO optimization, I'd recommend only using it for blogs. articles or other long-form content. Have some SEO experience under your belt? Use it for EVERYTHING that needs keyword optimization and is over 300 words. It'll help give you ideas and give you a better idea of how to work in that semantic SEO.

Exceptional content research and optimization tool

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Clearscope bridges the gap between SEO research tools like Ahrefs, Moz, SEM Rush, etc., and the hours of research a writer needs to create exceptional content. Once you've identified your lead keywords, Clearscope analyzes the top-performing competitive articles to determine the topics you'll want to cover, reading level, and length. Once you've written a draft, Clearscope will analyze your content with a simple letter grade, and show you which topics are missing or underserved. Now, of course, Clearscope won't tell you how *well* something is written--its persuasiveness, organization, flow, etc. But it does tell you how well you've covered the topics to meet a reader's intent. For several clients, and for my own work, I use Clearscope to generate the topics and infuse them into the creative brief for a writer. I'll also use the software to grade the writer's draft and sometimes will include that in their writing process. I'll also run existing content through Clearscope to see what optimization opportunities exist.

Pros

  • Content research
  • Content optimization and review
  • Entity reserach
  • Natural language processing

Cons

  • Cost is a little prohibitive for small teams/businesses.
  • Running reports could be more intuitive. Some users have run them incorrectly, costing credits (which Clearscope has been kind enough to refund).

Likelihood to Recommend

Ideal for content/SEO teams in competitive spaces with sizable (or growing) organic search demand and opportunity. Also, the customer should have the resources (freelancers or in-house) writers to write and optimize a good deal of long-form content. As such, this isn't ideal for smaller teams based on the price and, likely, the inability to produce that much content. Also, if you're new to the market, creating a new category, etc. this tool won't be terribly helpful. But it's definitely worth considering once you start seeing increased search volume.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Anytime we create an article that's 1000+ words, we are automatically generating a Clearscope report. It comes into our workflow after we do some initial keyword research and decide on a primary keyword. We look at Clearscope as being an important content optimization step. The alternative is paying somebody on your team to do all this research and they may not even do as good of a job.

Pros

  • Content optimization
  • Data-driven SEO research
  • Audience research

Cons

  • Semantic keyword suggestion relevance
  • Word count suggestions

Likelihood to Recommend

We often use Clearscope for short-form website copywriting projects, but I wouldn't use it for a short-form blog post—but then, that's because I wouldn't necessarily expect a short blog post to be able to rank in relevant searches.

Excellent for users looking for a content optimization plugin.
