Copper is a wireless energy monitor that helps utilities leverage real-time energy data to engage consumers with actionable energy insights. Copper Labs’ near-real-time data collection gives utilities and consumers the ability to make more informed energy management decisions. With a geographical display of live load data across a variety of meter types, and the ability to send messages to targeted consumers, utilities can take control of demand and stabilize the grid while integrating an increasing mix of distributed energy resources.

Using Copper Labs, utilities see live load data and can send targeted messages to consumers when it matters most to the grid, based on energy demand, connected distributed energy resources (DERs). Copper Labs uses machine learning to interpret electric, gas and water meter data to create personalized, near-real-time recommendations for utility consumers.

A neighborhood-level monitoring solution available later this year will deliver the data required for not only electric but also gas and water utilities to increase load flexibility and grid resiliency, regardless of existing metering infrastructure.
