It is primarily used as an image deployment system for our Windows machines. It is used by our IT department which I am part of. The KACE SDA solves the problem of needing a quick and convenient way to re-image our PCs. Every summer we re-image our labs with fresh windows images which allows for clean smooth running PCs for the coming school year.
Pros
- Windows PC deployments.
- Windows PC re-imaging.
Cons
- USMT had issues with successfully capturing user states.
- MAC support, stopped supporting newer versions of MAC OS. No APFS support.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is most effective in Windows PC environments and doing mass Windows deployments across a wired LAN. It would not be suitable for small office/school environments or for environments with limited PC usage.
