Overall Satisfaction with IBM Apptio

We utilize ApptioOne to plan our charge backs for hosting costs of our global data center. We also allocate our operational costs up to towers, to better understand what it is we are charging back costs for. This gives us actionable intel to give back to our executive teams for cost avoidance and savings.

Pros

  • Time Tracking for our external resources.
  • Allocation of costs for both capex and opex.
  • Breakouts of our most engaged vendors by cost pool and projects.

Cons

  • It would be nice to compare multiple plans without having to publish them.
  • To be able to pull more data into Apptio Bi such as unpublished plans.
  • This tool has allowed us to provide better postmortem analysis of projects upon completion. This allows for more efficient planning of future projects and acquisitions.
We are currently working with our Primer Success Manager to develop and fully utilize ApptioOne.
We have had to utilize the community and support groups just a handful of times. For issues we have had experience with the support team was timely with their communiction, even if they had yet not resolved the issue.

Yes, because the support provides expert level assistance but still gives you hands on learning.
Our company as gone through 2 logo changes since we adopted the TBM tool. For both logo changes, we have placed support tickets to update our company icon database so we could use the new logos in our reports. The updates went through quickly and seamlessly.
