Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms

Our usage of Cisco Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms routers includes both IOS-XE configurations and Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN deployments. We needed routers that are reliable and flexible. With a current MPLS WAN environment coupled with aspirations for Catalyst SD-WAN integration and/or migration, we wanted a platform that we could rely on and that would handle either deployment method. The Cisco Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms series allows us to meet our immediate installation needs with a path to Catalyst SD-WAN that can utilize the same hardware. We have seen strong performance in both deployments so far.

  • Delivers flexible deployment methods.
  • Have not yet had needs for anything that it could not do.
  • One platform that provides flexibility for multiple deployment solutions is a great cost savings from having to replace routers for different deployments.

Smaller systems offer strong connectivity for office developments. Mid-range options have served our larger campuses well. Our data center deployments of the larger systems have provided up to 100G connectivity and advanced routing solutions. The Cisco Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms continues to meet our needs and exceed our expectations.
