Overall Satisfaction with Cisco SD-WAN

We have found cuscus ability to support the product is our at best, or deployment is virtual on top of the curve ENCS platform. On top of the ENCS is the NFVIS which further supports the vEdge and ISRv devices.

When working with tac the engineer is not familiar with his the products interact with each other. For example problems with the vEdge might be due to a problem with the NFVIS but the TAC engineer will need to pass that to somebody who knows the NFVIS but then is stumped when needing to look at the vEdge.

Any issues beyond basic questions seen to get passed to India/development and take 24 to 48 hrs to obtain a response. This makes me wonder if Cisco is really capable of supporting the product which is why I would have a very difficult time to recommend the product to anybody else.
  • Common template deployment
  • Secure connectivity
  • Virtualized devices
  • Support
  • One/limited touch deployment
  • Device recovery
  • Low device count
  • Maintain common configurations
  • TAC's insanity to assist recovery of a system that caused a disk full cause a 24+ hrs outage
  • Cisco's inability to support the product has left a bad taste
Devices were preselected prior to me getting involved. I have not compared it to any other competitors

Do you think Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN's feature set?

No

Did Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN go as expected?

No

Would you buy Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN again?

No

Based upon the insult for Cisco to support the devices I have a hard time recommending a deployment anywhere.

The ability to support virtual devices does allow for a low device count per location. Ability to load other applications, eg vWAAS

Single management location for multiple devices also helps reduce device count
