Overall Satisfaction with Cisco SecureX

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Ostensibly, we use SecureX as a single pane of glass to see into our myriad of Cisco products. Realistically, SecureX is a bloated and often non-functional knock-off of a true SOAR-like system. It provides redundant and [in my experience] largely unhelpful information. We check in with it from time to time, but its purpose is vestigial at best.

Significant difficulty in integrating other Cisco Products.
No real time saved - I have to log into the service to get a full picture of a dashboard.
A SIEM is better in every way - this product is a SIEM lite and does the job poorly.

Return on Investment

Wasted time - SecureX is clunky to get working and unhelpful.
Redundant solution - If you have a SEIM, SOAR, or MSSP, SecureX just gives you the information you already had.
Unclear Featuring - SecureX seems like it does so, but then obfuscates its function under layers of menus.

Alternatives Considered

Kibana

Kibana integrates in the Security Onion SIEM stack providing integration into just about anything, not just Cisco product. It allows the creation of the dashboard you need and complete customization. It gives incredible granular control over what you see and how you see it. It can be clunky at times, but not nearly as much as SecureX. Additionally, a TAC case is not needed just to get a dashboard running.

Likelihood to Recommend

SecureX is supposed to save time and effort by giving visibility into a variety of Cisco products. We use Cisco extensively and so have a large number of integrations with SecureX. However, it provides no added value, often wasting time. I say this for two reasons: -The integrations have been glitchy, either breaking or having a very difficult time setting up -The dashboard gives only a cursory and even laggy view into the different products. This means I have to log into those products and check their dashboards anyway.
