Overall Satisfaction with IBM Apptio

Apptio helps us connect our business's technical IT side with IT's financial management side. It also helps drive visibility for management so that they can clearly understand how our IT budget is being spent. We are still working to increase the scope of our Apptio experience.

We model our data for telecom and licensing to get a clear picture of how it is broken down across the business. We also roll forward our budget now that it is built inside Apptio. We have some reports constructed that will be rolled out to managers soon so they can better communicate with their teams.
The post-sales team has been excellent. I think that may be partially because we spend so much money with Apptio. Our customer success manager is great. She pulls in other team members who we know can help us, too.

It takes a lot of effort to get Apptio functional for the organization at large, which is a real drawback. Undoubtedly, It is helpful, but without a large investment in a TBM team, the buildout will take a long time. It is also quite expensive for a cost management tool.
