Overall Satisfaction with Portainer

Portainer is helping me manage my new docker deploys. My Linux skills are not as strong as my Windows, and I am new to Docker so Portainer is helping me understand and troubleshoot where necessary to learn and use Docker. There are many aspects to Linux and Docker that I do not understand upfront, so Portainer acts as a overlay that more or less translates what I need to configure and where.

Pros

  • Simplifying
  • Comprehensive layout
  • Enable Docker features

Cons

  • Prevents from understanding Docker for in depth troubleshooting
  • Makes users reliant on Portainer for Docker administration
  • Issues with Portainer may make Docker unusable
  • Simplification
  • Central administration
  • Small business compatibility
  • Portainer has allowed for usage of Docker faster than without it
  • Time savings for learning Docker
  • ROI has already been achieved

Do you think Portainer delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Portainer's feature set?

Yes

Did Portainer live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Portainer go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Portainer again?

Yes

Portainer is a great small Docker deployment tool, which is my only experience. As I understand Docker and its features, it is only also really good for applications that will have a lot of users or loads that will change dramatically and support for those loads need to be fluid.
