Overall Satisfaction with SAP Integrated Business Planning

We are using SAP Integrated Business Planning to build our business plan for the next 18 to 24 months. We are SAP IBp to support our demand forecasting, supply planning , inventory optimization and our S&OP process.

Pros

  • Mid long term planning plan
  • Analytics on all IPB component
  • Demand forecasting statistical modeling

Cons

  • Short term supply planning with capacity constraints
  • Inventory optimization with capacity constraints
  • Ease to maintain master data
  • Improve forecast accuracy
  • Improve visibility on demand and supply gap
  • Improve business plan communication with analytics
Master data maintenance can be difficult, different interface available but overall we can have the flexibility to use SAP IBP like we want

Need to be integrated with our operational and financial system

Mid long term plannnig with high level capacity constraints is good. It need improvement to replace PPDS detail scheduling or production sequence constraints
