Overall Satisfaction with Vultr
Providing online services that depend on uptime is important. Vultr has provided over 5 years of dependable server instances that enable us to provide 99.99% uptime. Additionally, Vultr manages power redundancy so that we do not need to make the costly agreements with the power provider, or adequate backup solutions. Additionally, business internet is expensive. Vultr servers have access to high bandwidth preventing bottlenecks that would otherwise be cost prohibitive in an on premise solution. There is a balance between on-prem and datacenter based services, and Vultr has enabled us to find the happy medium that meets the needs of our customers.
Pros
- Simple Server Deployment
- Easy to Scale
- Excellent communication around service disruptions
- Consistent low latency and access to servers
Cons
- Object storage is not as competitive as competition
- Lack of object storage tiers, or other colder storage options
- Increased customer satisfaction from uptime
- Decreased website load times
- Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage, Wasabi Object Storage and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
Vultr has been a more cost effective solution in some areas. Compared to AWS EC2, Vultr has been a lot more cost effective for our environment. Vultr has the right vCPU, RAM, and storage for our needs. In the object storage space, Vultr has not been the best fit for our environment. This is too bad because our object storage solution is slower because it is not hosted within the same datacenter, this has been something that we have worked around with minimal issue.
