Wiz was brought in by the security team to help us manage our cloud security posture and give us better visibility into risks across our cloud environment. It allows us to quickly identify misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues. With Wiz, our security and SRE teams can collaborate more effectively, prioritising and addressing risks
Pros
- Getting started with Wiz was quick and painless. The onboarding process was well-structured, and their team provided solid support to help us integrate Wiz into our cloud environments with minimal effort. Documentation is clear, and their customer success team is always on hand to help with any questions, making the adoption process seamless
- One of Wiz’s biggest strengths is how clearly it presents security risks. It provides a well organised view of issues, making it easy to see where action is needed. The AI-powered Remediation Wizard is a great feature, offering guided fixes and automation options that speed up resolution, reducing the time spent manually investigating and fixing issues.
- The Wiz interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, which is a big plus when dealing with complex environments. Everything is laid out in a way that makes it simple to drill down into issues
Cons
- We’re still in the early stages of adopting Wiz, so we haven’t encountered any major gaps or pain points yet. So far, the platform has been intuitive and effective, and we’re continuing to explore its full capabilities as we integrate it further into our cloud security workflow. I will have to report back on this once we have fully embedded!
- Wiz plays a key role in ensuring our cloud security aligns with ISO 27001 requirements. By continuously monitoring for misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks, it helps us stay audit-ready and maintain our certification with less manual effort. Having a clear, real-time view of our security posture means we can proactively address gaps before they become compliance issues.
- One of the biggest operational benefits has been how Wiz enables better collaboration between our SecOps and SRE teams. Security issues are presented in a way that is easy to understand and actionable, allowing both teams to work together efficiently to resolve risks. This has reduced friction between security and engineering, leading to faster remediation times and fewer back-and-forth discussions to understand and prioritise issues.
We previously used Lacework but transitioned to Wiz as part of our effort to improve cloud security visibility and streamline risk management. While Lacework provided useful insights, we found that Wiz offered a clearer, more intuitive interface and better collaboration features, making it easier for both Security and Engineering teams to work together.
The Security Graph and automated risk analysis in Wiz have been especially valuable, helping us quickly understand exposures and prioritise fixes. Overall, the transition to Wiz has improved how we manage security risks across our cloud environment.
