Edmodo provides the services that I love, unlike some of the other sites. Edmodo appeals to teachers connecting on numerous topics and subjects from science and coding to SEL and Professional Development. The groups are all protected and monitored for teachers and students. The …
Edmodo is very similar, and they all share essential functions. Edmodo allows us to track student progress with visuals that are a bit easier than Google Classroom or Schoology. The learning community aspect of Edmodo is also a great tool to use for helping staff learn …
Edmodo finds itself more user-friendly for the younger grades. As a 4th grade teacher, I find students navigate the user interface better than other alternatives.
I have taught hybrid classrooms using WebCT, Blackboard, and D2L. I have used Schoology in the past for a brief time. Edmodo is a good LMS because students like its Facebook style; I like it because I feel it is a K-12 appropriate means of getting secondary students used to the …
Ease of use, a very familiar Facebook-like platform, and an incredible community make Edmodo an amazing LMS platform to use for educators. I find this to be probably the best LMS platform for teachers to start with. However, when you are looking to up-the-ante and want to …
Edmodo has a simplistic and familiar design that attracts teachers and students to engage with the platform. Even though the functionality looks basic, teachers can dig deep to create personalized learning experiences quickly. Most other platforms have some of the functionality …
Edmodo is primarily for communicating and collaborating, and because its purpose is different, it doesn't have many of the options and tools that one expects from a LMS (Learning Management System). While it excels at connecting parents, students, and teachers, as well as …
Instructional Coach grades 6-8: Social Studies Department
Chose Edmodo
These two platforms are similar. The user interface of Edmodo is just friendlier and more obvious to navigate, however once you are used to either interface, they both are highly functional and improve learning and engagement.
At first I thought Edmodo was better for my elementary students. Then I embraced the LMS and my students have done fabulous things with submitting their work, finding their math assignments, and even uploading movies of their learning. I look forward to introducing more …
Before using Schoology, we used Edmodo. It was a great starting point for a learning management system, but did not have all of the possibilities that Schoology provided. Schoology is a more robust learning management system that allows our teachers to go beyond digital …
Schoology is easier and more robust then any other learning management system I have ever used. It is also available for free to teachers that has almost all of the features available. Blackboard was terribly user unfriendly. Canvas was too limited for me. Moodle was only …
I personally liked Edmodo's ease of use and look better, but that is a personal preference. Schoology is a great product that is continuing to improve through user feedback.
I have taught using both Edmodo and Google Classroom. While both were easier than Schoology was to get in the beginning, Schoology is infinitely more powerful than either of them was. I can do so much more, and differentiate so much easier using Schoology than I could with …
Schoology was selected by my district. I like Schoology thus far. However, it is limited because teachers need subscriptions to access and add their classes. I prefer to use Edmodo to connect my students with their global peers to communicate, collaborate, and create.
History Teacher & Social Studies Curriculum Leader
Chose Schoology Learning
Schoology is well supported and is easy to use. It might not have all of the features of a larger LMS like Blackboard or Moodle, but that is also what makes it easier to use. It does not have the "scroll of death" that you would experience with Edmodo. Content is organized …
Schoology no longer provides all of the features of Canvas for a lower cost. In fact, as someone who now uses both LMSs, at different jobs, I can no longer recommend Schoology as features are disappearing and support has become almost worthless.
Schoology is a blend of most online programs. In areas of assigning work and grading, it does really well. In terms of having an intuitive classroom to navigate, other programs are better.
I've worked with several different learning management systems. Schoology has more to offer and allows students to work within the LMS. Other apps and programs can be embedded and opened inside the LMS. Educators can create and use great graphics within folders, pages, …
I think Schoology is the best of the best. This is the all-around LMS in my opinion and offers features that these other platforms do not. The ability to personalize your class and tailor it to your expectations and wants is unparalleled. Schoology does all the little things …
Although there are other good platforms for managing online classrooms, we did not find these as robust and were not as user-friendly in terms of interface, and their ability to connect to other online education platforms. It is also the best available platform for connecting …
I have used or experimented with a few different Learning Management Systems while teaching or taking classes. In my opinion, Schoology has been the most user friendly when it comes to creating and submitting assignments. Schoology is the only LMS that I have used in both a …
While I did not personally select Schoology due to the district level agreements, it has been helpful to coordinate with other teachers with the same students.
We choose Schoology over other platforms based on its UI design, its cost per user, and its ambitious roadmap for future development to support students and teachers.
Apples and oranges. I feel like from a teachers stand point Schoology is much more user friendly and has great customer service. Any bugs I have come across I just go into the live chat feature and someone is there to help immediately!
Schoology surpasses the alternatives, in our situation, because it interfaces directly with our SIS (PowerSchool). This feature saves time for teachers and provides quick grading updates. Schoology also has a robust LTI interface that allows outside tools to be connected.
I was in the committee that investigated LMS platforms and the committee felt very strongly that Schoology would better serve our needs. Since we made that decision we have not looked back. Schoology continues to improve their product and provide additional features based on …
I've either been a student or teacher in each of the products listed above. Schoology is, by far, the easiest yet most comprehensive platform. While several of the products have similar features, the layout, look, and navigation within Schoology create the best user experience. …
The learning curve for Schoology is substantially less dramatic than other products. Schoology's mobile platform is more robust, and better supports the devices most frequently used by our learners. Schoology has greater functionality, and more classroom management features …
