We are using AVISPL to deliver and install hardware for some of our offices. We are facing issue with the quotes that we are receiving - takes too much time - like weeks to receive the quotes.

  • Well, in order to process payment using AMEX, it can take up to three people and even if a payment was just processed in the past month or two - all forms have to be filled out again.
  • While I'm not getting into the details - but if someone wants to hear them - I don't understand that if I approved a quote and paid a 50% deposit via AMEX to order the equipment (and filled out the credit card forms at that time), why I have to do that all over again in order to process final payment (remaining 50% of the project quote). I have no problem getting on one call indicating payment with my AMEX full card data - but having to fill out paperwork and then send it to one person at an office/state that will then call another person to contact me via phone (who is in another office/state) is a lot of work. And if I end up not being available for the call - then I have to reach out to get it going again. A lot of time that feels unnecessary.
I've done that in the beginning of this questionnaire.

We use AVI-SPL for the design and installation of our conference room audio visual systems and other equipment installations. We have preventative maintenance and service agreements for those systems. They are also a preferred vendor for equipment purchases. When looking for recommendations for the latest and greatest equipment and technologies I will call on my sales reps.

  • reaching specific people in the service department. I am usually not sure what technician they will send and due to our company's COVID protocols, I need forms filled out ahead of time by the techs that will be on site.
  • Reaching people for scheduling. Occasionally I have tried to schedule a service call, provided my availability when asked, and then not heard back to confirm a date. This has left the follow-up communication up to me.
  • When trying to reach the general service department for just a simple question, they always open up a service ticket that sometimes goes unanswered for quite a while. The last time this happened I just wanted to know when my next PM visit was due to be scheduled. I still have not heard back. It has been 5 days.
AVI-SPL does very nice design and installation work. I believe that they come up with innovative solutions. I understand how hard it is to do a nice project on a limited budget but it would be nice to see more options for designs saving money. Our departments and managers always want nice solutions (as everyone does), but don't always have a big enough budget.

We have used AVI-SPL to implement audio/video solutions for campus spaces.
  • Send quotes that do not include all required parts
  • Providing accurate quotes for projects.
  • Estimating projects in a timely manner of at least 2-3 weeks
  • Meeting deadlines for scheduled installations
  • Communicating issues early and proactively
  • Listen to the customer needs
  • Meet expectations of the customer which AVI-SPL stated over and over that the expectations were reasonable and should be doable.
  • Get things done the right time so repeat and return trips are not needed.
  • Verify all parts for a project are in hand prior to sending the install team.
  • Manage the project well including daily reports when on-site
  • Follow customer's verbal and written expectations for communications when on-site.
At this time I can only tell you the negative as I have tried both in my current employer and at a previous employer to give AVI-SPL many chances to redeem themselves but have not once succeeded.

AVI-SPL was used to design and install the AV and collaboration systems in our new office. The supplied a design proposal and project plan. Once selected the worked with our construction contractor to install. Post install they have continued to support the system and address needs.

The handled the original bid for the job and provided expertise and logistical need to complete this project in a manner that would fit our current budget.

Overall, AVI-SPL is great at what they do. Strong vendor network to assess solutions and provide information. They're lacking in the small details that other integrators are doing a better job of managing. We consulted with AVI-SPL to equip our large training space for virtual, hybrid and in-person gatherings. We were looking to upgrade our existing equipment to professionalize our technology and infrastructure and to ensure seamless use of Zoom for meetings, webinars and offerings. We average a virtual, interactive training with 50-60 people once per month.

We contracted AVI-SPL to upgrade the audio/video capabilities of our executive conference room at corporate and also in the largest conference room in the company. AVI-SPL designed and installed a Teams Meeting Room with 6 surface-mounted ceiling speakers and 3 ceiling microphones, a wall-mounted control panel and connected to an existing 85" display monitor.

We use AVI-SPL for support in our conference rooms. We had conference rooms without audio and video accessible to our users. AVI-SPI provided equipment to them so that we can host video conferences. We have 2 projectors and 2 computers connected to large TVs. The room can be split up into 4 rooms or open all at once. There are also a few other rooms under our contract but the main issues happen in the main 4 conference rooms I described above. We request service call more frequently then we would like but I will say we can generally get a tech out quickly.

  • I would like to see escalated help sooner than later. There have been times where we have a tech come out, cant resolve the issues and they send another tech of the same level to look at it again.
  • I have requested an engineer is involved when a tech comes on site and that doesnt always happen.
  • I would like to see them take the initiative to dive deeper into some of the ongoing issues we have had in the past. I feel as if they come by and band aid the issue when they really need to dive into the schematics of our particular set up.
For the more basic issues they do a good job correcting them. In my experience, for some of the more complex problems, it seems like they dont have enough tier 2 techs/engineers available to help troubleshoot with the techs that are at the site. In my experience the techs come on site and dont really know what the solution was at the end of the day. Seems like a lot of rebooting the system many times to finally get the system back up and running (temporarily). Our system may be different then others but that should hinder the support we get from AVI. I believe that our set up may be different than what they are used to seeing and it seems like it takes them all day to fix the issues and when asked what the fix is there isnt a whole lot that they point to. Again most of the time it is rebooting the devices and checking the Biamp. In my experience, I recall a time where they said "out engineering cant connect to the server we have (this is their equipment) The tech ended up giving up with the engineer who was trying to connect up to their system that is on site and there was no follow up regarding that connection that could not be made. I would have expected them to troubleshoot further but it takes them all day to get the rooms back in order since they aren't sure what is the issue I believe and then they don't want to troubleshoot the connectivity issue with the engineer after because it took so long to correct the original problem in my opinion.

We rely on AVI-SPL for AV design, engineering, and support. Our conference spaces are mission critical. If an issue occurs, we need it resolved promptly. We're capable of doing some initial troubleshooting, but any complications beyond that requires specialized skill. That's where AVI-SPL comes in. Generally, the support we receive is prompt and we get back to working in a reasonable amount of time.

We've gone through a few other A/V support organizations over the years. Our growth and needs have greatly changed. Prior A/V partners proved to be severely lacking in capability. Since working with AVI SPL, the number of issues we've faced have dropped immensely.

We partner with AVI-SPL to provide the audio/visual component on new construction distribution centers. They provide end-to-end consulting, procurement and installation. They do a good job of providing a clear and quick proposal that easily conveys the scope to the end-users and facilitates scope approval. Extremely easy to work with.

As a subcontractor for the Audio / Visual work. AVI-SPL developed a set of shop drawings that were reviewed and coordinated with other trades before any work began. This included prework inspections to ensure a smooth installation once on-site. There will also be Owner training at the completion of the work along with Operation & Owner manuals for future reference.

AVI-SPL is an integrator for our conference rooms for AV system and they have been supporting us closely and have been doing an excellent work for us. Any urgent incident at AV system, they come to our site and fix the issue professionally and timely.

they are our current AUDIO VIDEO vendor we use for support when we have issues IT cannot figure out . The problems that we have most frequently are mainly issue with aging equipement. When Equipment fails wer reachout to AVI-SPL to have them come onsite configure and replace equipment . they are normally pretty responsive

If we have equipment that fails sometimes it takes too long to have new equipment ordered and installed by AVI-SPL. Our conference rooms are a priority and sometimes it takes a month from time an issue is reported to when it fixed to have resolution. I think adding techs and planning would help. AVI-SPL both helps our organization identify products and services that will meet our needs and helps us source those products and services in a cost effective and timely manner. Additionally, once a solution is sourced AVI-SPL keeps us up to date on the status of delivery.

AVI-SPL is the Crestron system integrator and maintainer for our AV system in the Emergency Operations Center. This AV system supports three spaces in one building, used during disaster and other emergency activations as well as frequent large-group training.
