What is Call & Report?

Call & Report is a GPS system designed to assist with planning, administering, and monitoring winter maintenance work and other field work, such as green area maintenance and property maintenance. According to the vendor, this solution is suitable for municipalities and entrepreneurs of all sizes, ranging from small to large organizations, and caters to various professions and industries including municipalities, road maintenance companies, property management companies, landscaping and gardening companies, and facility management companies.

Key Features

GPS or app: According to the vendor, users have the flexibility to choose between using portable GPS transmitters, mounted GPS transmitters, or an app on a mobile phone (available for both iOS and Android) based on their business needs. Portable GPS transmitters are easy to use and can be moved between vehicles, while mounted GPS transmitters can be connected to equipment in the vehicle to automatically log when the equipment is activated.

Customized data collection: The system automatically records driver information, date, start and completion times, and GPS tracks for all logged tasks. Drivers can also log additional information such as quantities of material, obstacles, or potholes, and complement the data with photos for more detailed documentation.

Liability claims: Call & Report provides an incident report feature that helps address liability claims. According to the vendor, the system can determine if a road section was ploughed before or after an accident occurred and verify if time requirements were fulfilled when treating a specific road section. It can also track the vehicle's location and movement to provide evidence in case of reported damages.

Dispatch work orders: The call-out function allows for easy dispatching of work orders to drivers, either individually or as a team. According to the vendor, drivers are contacted by Call & Report and receive work orders via phone or SMS. Route planning: Call & Report can distribute route descriptions together with work orders, guiding drivers on which streets and roads to treat in a specific district. The route description is available as a colored line layer in the Call & Report app for drivers. Real-time updates allow for progress monitoring by both drivers and supervisors.

Real-time follow-up: According to the vendor, Call & Report provides a quick overview of the current location of resources and the progress of their assigned tasks. Supervisors can monitor if action times are met and reallocate resources to priority areas if needed, ensuring efficient resource utilization and timely completion of tasks.

Analysis: Call & Report allows for the analysis of activities to make immediate decisions or evaluate a whole season. Detailed reports provide information on the number of work orders dispatched, hours spent on different activities in different areas, and efficiency measurements. The logged data helps evaluate the season, measure efficiency, and calculate costs for future seasons.

Follow-up using geofence: According to the vendor, Call & Report enables the creation of geofences to analyze and evaluate activities carried out within specific areas of a larger district. Geofences facilitate data extraction on activities, time spent, and resources utilized within each area, making it useful for analyzing specific locations during a season.

Users can filter data for specific time periods, workers, or types of activity, and export reports in PDF, Excel, or Shape formats for further analysis or documentation purposes.
