CartoDruid

CartoDruid, developed by Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León (ITACyL), is an Android™ application designed to support fieldwork tasks. According to the vendor, this application addresses the challenge of using geographic information in disconnected environments, making it suitable for professionals in agriculture, environmental management, land surveying, urban planning, and natural resource management. CartoDruid is intended for small to large companies and offers the following key features:

Raster and vector data: Users can view and edit both raster and vector layers on their Android devices, supporting formats such as mbTiles, rasterlite, sqlite (spatialite), and shp (ESRI Shapefile). This feature allows for offline work in areas with limited or no mobile network coverage.

Edit vector data easily: CartoDruid provides a powerful Geometry Editing Engine, enabling users to edit and create point, polyline, and polygonal map features. They can draw geometries on the screen or use GPS for precise data collection.

Custom forms to collect alphanumeric data in a simple way: Users can create custom forms for data collection, including alphanumeric data related to cartographic features, surveys, marketing studies, and statistical data collection. The FormuDroid tool allows for offline data collection in projects without geographic data.

No previous GIS knowledge required: CartoDruid is designed to be user-friendly and does not require prior GIS knowledge. It is easy to set up and use, suitable for anyone who needs to handle information in the field. Users can also export recorded data for use in other applications.
