What is Femtet?
Femtet is a comprehensive CAE software developed by Murata Software Co., Ltd. Key Features
Modeling / Results Display: Femtet provides an intuitive interface for modeling and displaying results. It supports the import and export of CAD data in various formats, including Parasolid and DXF. The software generates triangle or tetrahedral meshes automatically, with options for partial mesh sizes and adaptive meshing. It also allows the import of mesh data in Nastran format for analysis. Simulation results can be visualized through contour diagrams, deformation diagrams, vector diagrams, cross-sectional diagrams, and animations. The results can be saved in CSV format.
Electromagnetic Analysis: Femtet offers solutions for various electromagnetic analysis problems, including propagation constant, S-, Y-, Z-parameters, radiation characteristics, and magnetic field distribution. It can calculate differential transmission line and TDR, with the ability to save data in the Touchstone format for analysis using a circuit simulator.
Magnetic Analysis: Femtet provides solutions for magnetic field distribution, magnetic flux density, induced current, and magnetic force problems. It also offers analysis capabilities for inductance and impedance characteristics, coupling coefficient, loss, as well as motor characteristics like torque, T-N, and T-I. The software supports transient analysis for problems with arbitrary waveforms and can handle materials with nonlinear B-H curves.
Electric Analysis: Femtet enables the analysis of electric field and current distributions in dielectric and conductive materials under applied voltage. It can calculate capacitance and resistance across electrodes and determine the force applied to dielectric materials. The software also includes analysis capabilities for plating and hall elements.
Stress Analysis: Femtet allows for the analysis of mechanical stress, displacement, and deformation in various structures. It can analyze structural behavior under load acceleration, self-weight-induced bending, thermal load-induced deformation, and impact from falling objects. The software supports the analysis of elastic, elasto-plastic, viscoelastic, and hyperelastic materials.
Thermal Analysis: Femtet offers solutions for heat conductivity, heat transfer, radiation, and heat flux problems. It supports both steady-state and transient analysis and allows for the incorporation of nonlinear materials to optimize thermal designs. The software also provides simple-fluid thermal analysis capabilities.
Fluid Analysis: Femtet enables the analysis of liquid and air flows, including flows with obstacles. It allows for the analysis of flow velocity, pressure, turbulent flow energy, energy dissipation rate, force on wall face, pressure loss, volumetric flow rate, and more. Additionally, the software supports the coupling of fluid analysis with thermal analysis for analyzing forced convection.
Piezoelectric Analysis: Femtet offers analysis capabilities for structures made of quartz crystal or piezoelectric ceramic. It supports static analysis, eigenvalue analysis, frequency characteristics analysis, and transient analysis. The software can solve vibration distribution and impedance characteristics for devices such as sensors, buzzers, and actuators.
Acoustic Analysis: Femtet provides solutions for sound pressure distribution and particle velocity distribution problems. It can calculate reflection, diffraction, resonance, and directivity of sound waves. The software allows for the coupling of acoustic analysis with the piezoelectric solver to analyze sound wave propagation generated by vibrating devices.
