What is LaborPower?
LaborPower® is a desktop application developed by Working Systems Cooperative that aims to meet the operational needs of labor unions. Key Features
Dues: According to the vendor, LaborPower® allows tracking of various charges, such as dues, political action fund, insurance, retiree dues, working fees, arbitration fees, and purchases of merchandise. Charges can be based on different periods, such as monthly or quarterly. The software also offers integration with accounting software for exporting checks or other transactions.
Dispatch: LaborPower® Dispatch application is designed to improve dispatch and job bidding processes for union offices. It enables efficient dispatching while adhering to specific rules unique to each local. Members can bid on jobs through a customized, integrated website.
Apprentice: The LaborPower® Apprentice module is designed to track and manage apprentice-related information. It allows union offices to keep track of employment history, work hours, class grades, attendance, and more. The module also maintains a member history of all changes to status, level, and other factors.
LaborPower® Express: According to the vendor, LaborPower® Express is the official IBEW Membership and Dues Tracking Software, replacing ICS-Windows. It offers integration with Microsoft desktop products, easy document storage, audit changes to member information, automatic recurring charges, import of payroll deduction data, ID card scanning integration, and automated backups.
Website Integration: Working Systems Cooperative has deployed over 150 highly customizable websites that seamlessly integrate with the LaborPower® database. These websites enable members to perform various tasks, including paying dues, updating their information, signing out-of-work lists, and bidding for jobs. The features of the websites can be customized according to the union's preferences.
