What is LINQ?

LINQ is a business analysis tool offered by LINQ Ltd. that aims to assist organizations in capturing, visualizing, and analyzing their information supply chains. According to the vendor, LINQ allows users to model and understand how information flows through their business, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions to optimize processes and improve efficiency. It is also positioned as a modeling and simulation platform that enables businesses to create digital twins of their operations and simulate changes to optimize processes and drive business value. The vendor claims that LINQ provides insights and analytics to support evidence-based decision-making and facilitates successful change management.

Key Features

Custom Node Properties: According to the vendor, users can create custom properties to document additional information about nodes in their information supply chain. These properties can be text or numeric and can be associated with any node type. The vendor states that custom properties are shareable when a sketch is shared internally or externally.

Multi-node Property Editing: The vendor claims that users can select multiple nodes in their sketch and edit common properties for all selected nodes at once. This feature is said to enable quick and efficient mass editing of node properties.

URLs for Everyone: LINQ allows users to add URLs to their nodes, according to the vendor. This feature is designed to provide easy access to detailed documents and supporting data. URLs can be added to information, people, systems, and actions nodes, and users can click on the URL to directly navigate to the specified location.

People Dashboard V2: The vendor states that the People Dashboard has been enhanced with new features and functionality. It is positioned as a powerful tool to bring HR data to life and analyze the impact of people on the information supply chain. Users can supposedly gain insights into the roles, skills, and interactions of individuals within the organization.

Copy & Paste across Sketches: According to the vendor, users can now copy content from one sketch and paste it into another. This feature is intended to facilitate the re-use of existing content, including custom properties, allowing users to quickly transfer valuable information between sketches.

Many Actions to One Information Asset: LINQ now supports connecting multiple actions to a single information asset, as claimed by the vendor. This feature is said to be useful when the same action is performed by different individuals at different times, resulting in the creation of the same information. It is aimed at helping users model shared actions and highlight their impact on the information flow.

Many People to One Action: The vendor claims that users can connect multiple people to a single action in LINQ. This feature is particularly useful for modeling meetings or group activities where multiple individuals are involved in the same action. It is intended to allow for accurate cost calculation and analysis of team-based actions.

Tagging & Flagging: LINQ introduces Tags and Flags to categorize, organize, and highlight nodes in a sketch, according to the vendor. Users can add tags and turn on flags to draw attention to important nodes or remind themselves of future work. The Visualisation Panel is said to provide control over flag visibility and insight into nodes with assigned tags.

Enter any action time & duration: The vendor claims that the 24-hour validation on the Action Calculator has been removed in LINQ, allowing users to enter any action time and duration. This feature is intended to enable a more transactional approach to describing actions in the information supply chain. Users can supposedly accurately model team-based actions and consider teams as easily as individuals.

Record your conversations: According to the vendor, a new Verbal Information node subtype has been introduced in LINQ. This node type allows users to record information that doesn't make it into a system but is part of the information flow. It is positioned as a feature that helps identify potential bottlenecks and highlight the importance of verbal communication.
