Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
We used BigCommerce for the online store for the whole organisation.
- It is quick to log in.
- It can be used on multiple platforms.
- It is easy to update the site code.
- The price increase from the basic subscription is disproportionate to the turnover difference. It made it very expensive for the turnover at the time.
- There is not a platform messaging system for customers to send messages to site owner.
- Incompatible with Stripe AI fraud protection system, this is available on Shopify for the same amount.
- As we increased the business the price increase from basic to the next tear was not proportionate. There are other competitors that were far cheaper at the threshold. That is the only reason I looked elsewhere.
- We had many charge backs, but could not integrate with Stripe's any fraud AI software. Therefore, the threshold for the monthly charge was based on transactions that we cancelled after the initial purchase. This impacted as our products were desirable.
- The page image sizes are not optimised like Shopify. Therefore, the page speed was affected in Google SEO ranking.
- The mobile template had to be written seperately, rather than a framework such as twitter framework.
