Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
We use ClickUp for both daily and on-need basis; this proves to be an essential tool to track company-wide and team-wise projects along with its subtasks. It proves to be useful as compared to having to manually input tasks on spreadsheets, as the tool itself has built-in notifications especially when it's integrated into Google Workspace.
- Organized and hierarchical arrangement of projects and tasks
- Separate workspaces with privacy functions for different types of projects.
- Automated notifications! Super love this!
- Email digest - basically I am reminded on email a summary of what I need to accomplish for the day.
- UI/UX - it can be too cluttered sometimes and can be intimidating especially for those new users.
- Too many functions per se (can be a bad thing) if you're in a hurry and wanted to jot a simple tasks - sometimes there's just too much thing happening on.
- Sub-tasks within a main tasks can be very confusing when connected to a project dependency. Prepare to go over a maze. :)
- Generally, it has improved team collaboration as we can easily tag people to a certain tasks as long as he's a user.
- It saved up a lot of manhours, in our case an hour max versus manually sending reminders. The automated reminders are very useful to track progress and notify people of their deadline.
- There's a 20% increase on project completion delivery as the tool has helped a lot in terms of what are the overdue tasks of a certain projects and again, people are reminded of it.
While there is a collaboration on initial phase of scoping, it gets continued further through tasks input on ClickUp i.e. as an admin I can tag people right there and then people can easily reply based on what is being asked on them. What's even good is that comments are documented hence saves time validating who said who.
Yes - as mentioned, with its deep integration into Google Workspace, it opened up a functionality where people are automatically reminded of their tasks. Additionally, tasks can be seen on the calendar, hence, very useful for admins to get that "bird's eye" view of everything. Gone are the days of even using spreadsheets just to track projects.
Google Tasks is very basic and lacks the analysis part. ClickUp offers chart capability which is very useful for people who are very visual and despise reading through big chunks of information. I'd say ClickUp is very much of a project management tool as compared to Google Task which the name suggest is only for tasks.
