Overall Satisfaction with DiscoverOrg
DiscoverOrg was used by my company's business development team. Our main goal of using DiscoverOrg was to help identify account information (financials, addresses, technologies employed, org charts, etc) and specifically identify the key decision makers at these accounts who we want to add to marketing campaigns and include in our one-to-one sales outreach. Most recently, DiscoverOrg has upgraded us to the newest version of the platform, ZoomInfo, but this review is for the legacy platform, DiscoverOrg.
- Org Charts of companies in the system
- Contact information is generally correct, and if not, you are able to let the DiscoverOrg team know it needs to be updated.
- Setting up alerts based on your given criteria.
- The subscription service model. We only had access to 200 accounts.
- Integration with our Salesforce CRM seemed to be a little wonky.
- Account limits. Some of the account we were looking for were very small and not in the platform.
- Positive - It has allowed the sales team to identify target decision makers faster than browsing LinkedIn or company websites
- Positive - I'm sure with all of the contacts we have pulled from DiscoverOrg, we've had an opportunity arise, which likely covered the cost of our annual subscription
- Negative - We were unaware and not reminded by the account team of the auto-renewal change date–getting us stuck in a contract that we may not have wanted.
ZoomInfo acquired DiscoverOrg and I believe legacy DiscoverOrg will phase out in the near future. ZoomInfo is 100x better than DiscoverOrg and are very pleased with it's functionality and easy of use. We only selected DiscoverOrg because we were on an auto-renewal contract and did not unsubscribe in time. We did not plan to renew DiscoverOrg. But since then we have been upgraded to ZoomInfo and are finding much more value in that platform than we did in DiscoverOrg.
