Overall Satisfaction with Spotfire
We would like to use Spotfire in our Research Centre at the Hospital for a quick visualization and analysis of the data for projects which do not need the development of ad hoc methods, to be used by users without a computational background. The results were okay, although you always need to take into account the cost related to changing a workflow from what people are used to. In particular, those without a technical background were thrilled to be able to run simple analyses without having to learn how to code. A couple of years later, we decided to use Spotfire to show results to collaborators
- Ease of use
- Visualization
- Communication
- Generating figures
- Handling of samples. We would have liked something closer to a laboratory information management system, where samples could be tracked before sequencing. Even tracking the position of a vial in a fridge/rack would be useful for us.
- Documentation
- Saved time on discussions
- Empowered inexperienced users
- Quickly generated graphs

- No Training
It allowed me and my colleagues to use Spotfire in a satisfactory way, although we reckon that we could use it better if we dedicated more time to it.
