Overall Satisfaction with WooCommerce
I've used WooCommerce in the capacity of enabling relatively small nonprofit organizations be able to sell physical products, eLearning modules and print/digital subscriptions. Prior to using WooCommerce, they were having to sell their products and subscriptions through paper. WooCommerce, with its pros and cons, was transformational. It is also clearly the go-to eCommerce solution for Wordpress based websites.
- Affordability
- Scale
- Implementation
- Cost
- UX leaves some to be desired. Very wordpress like, which is a great publishing platform but not a robust inventory system
- Complexity of training on custom fields etc.
- Limited integrations with other systems due to Wordpress infrastructure
- Lower operational cost of selling
- Higher cart value per customer
- Quicker achievement of eCommerce objectives
Shopify while providing a more sophisticated user experience is less easy to integrate with an existing Wordpress website. Hence, WooCommerce is a go-to for those with existing Wordpress websites.
Shopify provides a great store front of its own, and hence may be recommended for those who are starting out new, and have a higher budget and more expectations on the UX front.
