Overall Satisfaction with Ziflow

We currently use Ziflow as our internal proofing mechanism. All proofs are reviewed by our internal team before the client review process begins. Then, after client approval, another review is done before the creative is produced. We intend to roll this out to all clients for the client proofing/approval process as our team gets more comfortable with it and after we've onboarded a few select clients to beta test it.
  • Textual annotation - many useful tag features that give context to the edit being provided to the highlighted text.
  • General commenting with useful annotation tools - you can combine all the different annotation tools in one comment. So, you could draw a box/circle around a photo, use the arrow tool to show where to move it, free hand draw something if needed and have that all tied to a single comment bubble.
  • Proofing a wide variety of file types - pretty much anything you want to proof can be proofed - even URLs
  • Automating the proofing process - at the upper tier, you can access to some strong automation and the ability to save and use template workflows.
  • Within a stage (portion of a workflow), I'd like to be able to set the order people get to review the creative. I would like certain people to be able to ad insight into other's comments, but if they jump into the proof first, they don't see what others have said unless they are mentioned and come back to the proof.
  • At the enterprise level, you can pay for a few "Lite" profiles for people to gain access to a dashboard or proofs without the ability to start proofs. It would be nice for a certain amount of those to be included for the top tier. We have some team members who never need to start proofs but review most/all proofs. A dashboard would be great for them.
  • Positive - has improved efficiency by adding clarity in the proofing process.
  • Positive - the automation has improved timelines and simplified the review process.
  • Negative - a few clients have been resistant to using "a new software" - however, I don't believe that is really due to the product itself, but rather the clients not wanting to adapt.
It has accelerated the speed things are able to move through the review process. Saved workflow templates and automation makes the process smooth and consistent. The visibility into who has received, opened, commented, and "finalized" their review is top-notch. I never have to guess where something is - I can find it using search and/or folders and know the review status of any job.
It has streamlined and simplified our collaboration. We still were able to do this before using other tools, but this centralizes where this collaboration happens, documents it, and allows us to go back and verify what happened, when, and why.

We ultimately moved away from Adobe Acrobat shared PDFs because we needed more functionality that a true proofing platform would provide. After researching many different options, Ziflow was the solution that fit our needs without paying for a ton of extra functions we simply didn't need or want. Ziflow excels at proofing without a ton of extra bloat around project management. It does everything you need (and probably a bit more) for proofing.

Cost was another reason we went with Ziflow. Even at the top tier, it was accessible for a small-mid company.
Ziflow is a excellent proofing platform. It is designed to do that to perfection. We already have a project management tool where our jobs are created and tracked - we were just looking for a proofing solution. This fit the bill. Some proofing platforms may do a lot of other things on top of proofing - which may be what you are looking for. It wasn't for us. This complements a project management tool without requiring duplication of work.
