Active@ File Recovery vs. ManageEngine Device Control Plus

Once I had some IT person who just assumed I have no valuable files on other partition, and this person formatted my entire PC. Even though I transfered all my important files from C partition for this reason. I was devastated, and more so that this young person told me the files can't be recovered. Lucky for me I remembered this software that we often use at work. I'm not sure for when it's less appropriate, it's not really a tool someone needs for every day use, but once it's needed it really solves what you need

Good way to protect your network if you have a lot of sensitive data. If you have visitors sign an NDA when they come in, then this should be part of your software suite. It is a bit expensive for what it does so I would avoid buying if you don't need more than a cursory logging of USB activity.

I previousely used EaseUS data recovery wizard which was free, and it was great for simple basic recovery. But when multiple people are working simultaneosly on a same project, it means a lot to have the ability to search for the specific file or folder with a quick scan. Since switching, this app has become a valuable tool in our asset

I've only ever used Group Policy to control USB usage.
