Alex Solutions vs. Ataccama ONE vs. Collibra Platform

If you have information systems with lots of information but need a solution that ties together the data Alex Solution is really a great tool for this. We're a large international company, so this was our case. But if you are a smaller local company with not that much data available it could be you should look for other solutions for a start.

Usage for enterprise wide data management and governance across wide range of user group. Ataccama ONE enables achieving higher data quality amongst the data products. It is a powerful platform that supports integration of several checks on different data sets that can be also consolidated in reports later on. Data discovery works quite fast and easy.

Collibra is well suited where you have multiple reporting environments and multiple source systems. Collibra works well in our environment because we can delegate roles and administration to departments or it can be used in a centralized environment. The ability to customize attributes and assets as well and integrate using the rest api is very important to us.

One of the key factors in our choice to onboard Ataccama was its usability - general end users have everything at their fingertips, it is not difficult for IT developers to setup the tool, and it has been an overall pleasure.

Support has been excellent to date - very user friendly and knowledgeable to help support our needs and issues as they arise.

I have seen companies with Alex and Collibra, and if I should choose one of these tools based on my knowledge and feedback from the users, I would definitely choose Alex Solutions. From a user perspective Alex Solutions is easier to use - it really is just more intuitive and for most users that can make the difference between using and not using the solution

Ataccama ONE is a designated tool for Data quality monitoring. Supports end to end. Quite easy to deploy. Alteryx is more about coding or almost as complicated while Ataccama ONE is a bit easier to use. Different interfaces. Many views automatically available for data sets in Ataccama ONE. Output is vizualized in the tool. While more data transformation is required in Alteryx.

Collibra offers more features [than alternatives] and is easy for business users to use. We did a proof of concept with Collibra using the Cloud service that allowed us to kick the tires and get a comfort level before we made the investment. At the time of our purchase the market was very immature and is continuing to evolve.

• It's always difficult to predict the future, but the feedback from our organization is clear. Data-driven decisions are better decisions for sure.
• No service or solution is free, but seen in the bigger picture the better decision making surely outweigh the costs of Alex Solutions
• Our organization has way more focus on data and ensuring correct data collection. This is probably the best impact we have had seen from a data manager's perspective
