We use Cerner Millennium for our hospital EMR and NextGen for Ambulatory offices. Cerner Millennium is much more customizable and dynamic than NextGen. We have less issues overall, support is more competent, and user management syncs easily with Active Directory. NextGen …

Cerner allows us to access and enter all the information that is needed to take care of the participants. It is not really geared for the research environment. There was a lot of customization that was needed to tailor it to our needs. There is turnover with staff in Cerner and when there were some downtimes Cerner staff did not know who to contact at our facility, eventhough the information was shared with them already.

There are times when it is very useful and yet there are times when it is more cumbersome than it has to be. The day to day operations are user friendly, but when there are upgrades there are times when it does not always work well for a small facility
