Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Cerner Millenium for our EHR application. We are a research facility, and we use it as our medical record. It captures demographics, vitals, progress notes,labs, ekgs, consent forms and advance directives.
It is how we share information with clinicians within the facility and outside the facility. It has replaced our paper medical record.

Pros

Capturing demographic information
Ability to scan outside documents into the system
The ease in viewing the documentation

Cons

An incomplete note is visible to all users, even if it is not signed.
Not all upgrades are tested properly before it goes live, causing the system to be unavailable to the clinicians.
Cumbersome at times to complete a task
