CGM Aprima EHR vs. CGM Medisoft

Aprima is particularly well suited for the primary care provider, however, Aprima has developed excellent content for most specialty care offices as well. Specifically, OB/GYN, Orthopedics and Internal Medicine and its sub-specialties such as Gastroenterology and Cardiology can be easily managed with Aprima. Perhaps Aprima's greatest strength is its organization's commitment to content development. Look for greater and greater things from Aprima!

For smaller practices that do not bill insurance, Medisoft may be a bit more than they really need. However, if they desire the ability to track patient appointments and financials all in one place, as well as run detailed reports on practice data, this still may be a good option.

• Tracking of billing (superbills, etc)

• Medisoft is relatively easy to use.
• There are a lot of customizable features.
• Training users on the product is not a long process because it is intuitive.

• The scheduling component could be improved to be more efficient in managing double booked and overlaying appointments.

I prefer Medisoft due to ease of use, functionality and custom report features. In my experience with other software programs I found them to be either less user friendly or lacking in key features that we require for our particular practice.

• Medisoft is a good product, but I feel the cost of assurance is too high.
• With all the different components each being billed separately adds up quickly.
• Keeping patient charts/bills up to date is pretty easy.
