CharlieHR vs. Sling

As a part-time employee, it would be better if I was able to book leave on an hourly basis. Also, to be able to set up two leave types, paid and unpaid, and accrue lieu time.

Sling offers enough customization I can see it working in most any scheduling scenarios. The ability to build job types into each employee gives you the control to match employee skills with the need for any particular position. Time of day templates makes it easy to select various shift times.

• Ease of access for managers & employees alike.
• Sling staff always reply almost right away when I have had questions in the past.
• We love utilizing the different colors for the schedule, so it's easier to see who's what and where/when.
• Easy for staff to apply for shifts.
• Free version does everything we need it to!

• Better ability to manage leave for part time / pro rata employees
• Links to other HR apps such as free agent
• Management of unpaid leave allowance as well as paid.

Both the above work in different ways and provide different services to CharlieHR, although if we could use a single app for all, that would be better.

• Easier to track leave taken and left
• Still need greater flexibility for leave types
• Need to be able to book leave by the hour
