Check Point Endpoint Security vs. Comodo Advanced Endpoint Protection (AEP)

Check Point Endpoint Media Encryption and Port Protection (Pointsec) is well suited for Microsoft Windows environment. While, for MacOS it is less appropriate.

It seems to be one of the best AV products that I have used. One issue that I have is with billing/invoicing and how the licenses are issued.

• Utilizes voiceprint recognition to validate users.
• Allows for a one time login from end users working remotely away from their desks.

• Types of devices to control needs to be added like McAfee and GFI Endpoint Security.
• Device whitelisting needs more granular level like by Vendor ID, Serial Number, Device ID etc.
• Device Control and Media Protection on MacOS to be added.

• Stability, they could grow when it comes to updates to the client. There always seems to be complications.
• Locking of systems. In the event of trouble, systems lock down so far that the administrator has to drive to the location where device is located, uninstall and reinstall.

I was using a platform called Barkly which seemed to work well at the time. I ran a ransomware simulation against Barkly and it did not perform as well as anticipated. I began searching for another AV platform, found Comodo and decided to run the same ransomware test. Comodo [Advanced Endpoint Protection (AEP)] performed much better and was more effective at stopping the simulated ransomware.
