CloneManager vs. NovaBACKUP

Any company which has onsite physical or virtual servers and is moving to the cloud or newer hardware or just creating redundancy needs to invest in a good cloning/replicating software like CloneManager. We have used it once with good results and I personally can recommend it to whoever is managing IT in their company.

Provide data protection for small to media size clients. Sends comprehensive email reports upon job completion. Physical to Virtual Migrations. Backing up physical and virtual machines. Alerting on backup job success or failure. Support is could be a little better, but it is adequate. The application is frequently updated and supports the latest operating systems from Microsoft and VMware.

CloneManager is targeted at a completely different use case as compared to Veeam Backup & Replication. We used both of these tools individually and at the same time so it works both ways for us. The licensing terms and pricing is always a great aspect for any company looking for tools on a budget.

Not as polished as Veeam, but a lot cheaper when backing up data from over 10 servers. Otherwise, if you are backing up just one server, and don't need much in the way of support, the Veeam Community edition is a very cost-effective backup solution. When comparing the support and cost of Novabackup for a small to mid-size business, it is a very reliable solution.
