TIBCO BPM Enterprise was selected for its easy to use features for the developers. Out of the box TIBCO BPM Openspace and Workspace is very convenient for the Admin users for managing the users and application requests. Support for scripted deployment using ANT is very useful …
ActiveMatrix BPM is is (or was, as its future is uncertain) a TIBCO replacement for iProcess. It is not as fast and reliable but it has a new generation of capabilities such as application server architecture, capabilities task routing, process patterns and so on. It feels it …
TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM improves the user experience, user task and form builder is fantastic, TIBCO scripting is better and more expressive for data management.
I selected TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM because for me it is a fantastic and powerful product that permits me to easily implement complex business processes and offers many tools for monitoring, troubleshooting, and administration. In this product there is all that is needed when you …
I have never used competing products, but experience in using Tibco BusinessWorks has helped to process BPM processes because it is possible to use the TIBCO logic learned during the experience over the years.
For BPM we looked at some IBM products suites, BPM Online, Oracle products and Pega Systems. The decision to go with AMX BPM was based on the evaluation by the software architect team and the cost of acquiring the TIBCO suites.
PegaRules Process Commander is much easier to configure the rules, and it follows a effective Class structure in background. All though BPM has a BOM, it is sometimes difficult to modify BOM once it is deployed.
The scenario where TIBCO ActiveMatrix is well suited is in the scenario where there are more long-term business processes and in a complex corporate organization where there are many users with different privileges to perform actions on the same processes. It's less appropriate where there are no complex business process especially if the resubmit of the task in error is not required.
TIBCO offers multiple ways to implement the sophisticated forms of event-driven BPM. It also balances the combination of business rules and AMX BPM for a different variety of IT Applications
It depends on the Enterprise service bus which is message oriented middleware
The integration of Spotfire with AMXBPM and BusinessEvents is a unique advantage
One of the challenges we faced with AMX BPM is the way the data is kept and it is hard to troubleshoot when a work items goes into halted state. Either there should be better documentation of what is under the hood or simplify the way work items data are stored.
Assigning privileges to system action where multiple organization models are used, seems to create ambiguity, as per the manual: "If different privileges are assigned to the same system action at different levels in the organization model, each level is checked when determining whether a user has the necessary privilege to be able to perform a particular system action. If the lowest level has no required privileges assigned, the parent entity is checked, and so on up the organization model hierarchy to the default, system-wide value."
It is cumbersome to add the same system action in all org models even though it won't be used everywhere.
When AMX BPM integrates with other products such as AMX BusinessWork, there should be a better way for the work items to handle broken communication. Data recovery seems to be an issue.
TIBCO BPM Enterprise can be integrated with other technologies like React UI which can be used to customize front end and TIBCO Business Works for processing. Services created in TIBCO BPM Enterprise can be exposed to REST which can be shared as API to external systems. Users can be created and modifies very easily using out of the box TIBCO BPM Openspace and Workspace. Events can be customized and this data can be used to generate reports.
TIBCO BPM Enterprise was selected for its easy to use features for the developers. Out of the box TIBCO BPM Openspace and Workspace is very convenient for the Admin users for managing the users and application requests. Support for scripted deployment using ANT is very useful and apart from this, deployment can also be done within the TIBCO BPM Studio for Designers by connecting to a deployment server and deployment package can be bundled in a deployment archive (DAA file) and that can be shared with the deployment team who can use TIBCO BPM Administrator for deploying the application.
