CTERA offered a cloud storage gateway and NAS appliance the Edge X Series. The product line has been discontinued.

Uplynk, formerly Edgio and formerly Limelight Networks, offers their global edge network to bring data closer to every user, delivering content faster, safer and easier. It boasts more than 7,000 global interconnections to last-mile networks.
This is all about the selling you a "Device" and prices vary greatly between resellers. The devices work well, but the pure cloud solutions need a lot of work.
Uplynk is a really useful tool that i am glad our organization has access to. However i find that the steaming software struggles on days when there are many clips being created and this can create a backlog during crucial content posting times. I wish the software was a little more streamlined as well and able to handle multiple users at the same time.

We used Limelight Networks (LLNW) for content storage and reporting. They continued to update and improve the platform. Their customer communication approach had evolved over the years to become very good.
We webcast live events throughout North America and abroad from multiple locations for multiple clients, simultaneously.
We built applications on top of LLNW infrastructure.

SQL Backups just don't work reliably. For us, we lost all of our SQL data backed up through the CTERA Application process. Although the logs indicated a success, that was really not the case. This came close to putting us out of business. Luckily I had taken a genuine SQL backup to a folder. Unfortunately it was a month old. We had to pick-up the pieces from there.
Don't use it for file sync and share. There are better products out there i.e. anchorworks.com
Support sucks. Good luck with response time and answers that are inconsistent between team members. For example I had to rebuild a VM from scratch. When I re-installed the CTERA client It obviously thought I was adding another device. When I inquired to tech support, one member said "copy the old Data folder" (I still had the old VHD. That did not work). The other directed me to the correct spot to just change the associated folder. The turn-around time was over 24 hours for this simple fix.
Documentation, plenty of fodder but no real tech there.

Uplynk has improved greatly in the past year or so but still has some technical quirks that need to be worked out. i think with some improvements to speed and more stability in the program it could be an essential industry tool for our news station. Thank you for the improved performance to date.

Unfortunately CTERA does not stack up well if you want a pure cloud BDR. I have use iDrive and Asigra. iDrive has similar support and SQL backup issues. Asigra can vary widely in support and price, but the software is solid.
We have moved our live webcasting and archived hosting away from LLNW. There were some technical hurdles that we could not overcome, even with their technical support. For our business model, LLNW's fee structure was not competitive with others in their space.

We built our live and archived webcasting part of our business around the LLNW platform. We built a successful business with the assistance of their tools and network. Management is really working hard to ensure clients are happy and are being assisted by the organization.
