Dell VxBlock System 1000 vs. IBM Netezza Performance Server

VBlock is extremely well-suited for reliable delivery of virtualized mixed workloads. VBlock provides necessary hardware abstraction that allows for, uninterrupted by hardware failures, continuous delivery of critical services that otherwise do not provide hardware failure resiliency. VBlock is not the best solution from a financial standpoint for cost-sensitive solutions that are programmed for software resiliency.

• More tech support may make it easier as it is only limited to be done via company representatives
• Overhead cost for replacements and services looks like it is high compared to others
• Integration with other cloud based application will be great

Netezza is sufficient against similar products. It comes down to personal preference, I'd love to have the data objects popping up as I type but some people may not like it.

• VBLock has eliminated unforced downtime occurrences in the environment.
• VBlock support model has significantly reduced amount of effort allocated to hardware installation and support activities and firmware maintenance.

• The appliance is all in one so we have all licenses and support contracts under one roof.
• The cost is expensive so ROI may take time to be realized.
• If done correctly, then Netezza provides the opportunity for huge ROI.
