Demio vs. FortiManager

If you're looking to add webinars into your content, sales, or marketing strategy Demio is a great tool to make that happen. The interface is clean and simple, easy to use, and offers plenty of features to make your webinar experience unique to your business, with a more personalized experience. Demio makes it easy to share your expertise, get in front of your customers in large numbers, and develop your brand through multimedia and video content. From live to automated webinars, you have options to control the content and create the webinar you want while operating in a tool that was specifically made for webinars. You can even redirect your attendees to a particular URL after the webinar ends if you have a special offer or promotion for your registrants.

FortiManager is well suited for larger organizations which require unified configurations and IT departments that need quick turn around on firewall related tickets. I believe MSPs can also benefit with the use of the VDOM feature, if strict separation between clients is needed. FortiManager wouldn't be ideal for 1-3 site operations, unless their configurations are extremely complex or have a high number of active users.

• Creating an automated webinar series option
• Ability to combine live and automated webinars within a series

• Various bugs: The software is buggy, and if you don't have a good understanding of it's underlaying operation, you can get confused or stuck when pushing a configuration. There are lots of little quirks you will have to learn, which are not described in any documentation.
• Conflict resolution: Occasionally, during larger changes, bringing new devices in, pushing a config will fail due to dependencies, conflicts, or other software bugs. This is somewhat time consuming because the error messages provided aren't descriptive
• CLI Options: Some configuration changes require creating scripts that execute on each device, and can't be done via the GUI

Overall it is a good webinar platform. Others may have more options but they are way more expensive.

I love the chat support team at Demio. They're timely. They're thorough. They're polite. They even send funny gifs and emojis. For more serious or complicated questions/issues, I have been invited into a personal Demio webinar with a technical specialist who walked me through exactly how to achieve what I was looking to do and explained everything clearly. Demio's support team is fantastic.

Zoom is a powerful tool for video communications. With the explosion of video meetings since March of 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, webinars that take place on Zoom have an almost Pavlovian response as many folks have a subconscious response or feeling towards the Zoom interface, as they feel like they're in a meeting rather than at a webinar or digital event. Demio is also a true webinar solution, rather than a video communication platform that has been 'converted' into a webinar solution. Demio has features and capabilities that other platforms lack, and the interface is a fresh experience with no preconceived notions.

FortiManager is the best choice for managing numerous FortiGate firewalls. It allows for easy integration into ServiceNow and automates simple repetitive tasks that are very straightforward. Role-based access control is easy to enable and you can get quite granular with user permissions. Administrative Domains help segregate firewall management and compliance within the FortiManager console, by almost any classification method that makes sense to your organization.

• In my case it is neutral as I don't use this platform for income generation

• Significant reduction in new firewall deployment turn around time, 50% reduction
• Reduction in time spent on website access related IT support tickets. Avg 5 minutes from response to close
• Reduction in time spent by IT team for setting up WFH employees to allow working over SSL VPN.
