G-P vs. Remote.com

We truly have had a great experience using G-P both times in support a Japan and Canada hire. Compliance is so important and knowing that G-P will communicate specific needs, trainings, expectations, and location based needs with the employee is extremely beneficial. The off-boarding process is also very smooth, as a G-P representative works through in its entirety with you, even down to drafting the termination letter and being in the notification meeting to help talk off-boarding and answer any questions

If you have a company that is hiring employees globally, remote does a great job and helps you with ease. If you are being employed by an international company, you can suggest remote for them, it will really help you and still give you all the benefits of legal worker rights.

• G-P has a defined onboarding process and dedicated contacts who can coordinate with our counsel and project plan. It also helps to have a dedicated customer success manager who is your constant point of contact and helps you resolve urgent queries and issues.
• G-P provides us support from HR specialists with local employment-law expertise. This gives us first line of support for local employment questions, so we can resolve matters quickly and bring in external counsel just for complex or high-risk issues.
• The team helps scope out a new country from an onboarding and employment law POV. Helps in making a decision to enter a new talent market.

• We are sometimes not consulted or informed when an employee raises a topic. For example, an employee was told by GP to get our approval, and GP took the employee's word that approval had been granted rather than checking. This causes problems.

I think overall G-P is a credible and intuitive system. Help is on hand if needed and replies are quick from the team. It gives confidence in compliance with employment law in territories and gives clear costings separated into fees and a breakdown of international employment costings as one would expect.

I looked at other products when we started G-P a year and a half ago, but I don't recall any specifics now.

• I think GPs are expensive; however, setting one up from scratch in a country is expensive. I do not have ROI data.
• I am not convinced there is value for money.
