Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) vs. Hetzner IaaS

An effective pricing strategy is in place. Google Cloud VPC is the most secure since it runs on a private network and never contacts the public network. Google is well-known for its AI/ML and Kubernetes engines, both of which have a leg up on the competition. Google Cloud VPC's database services are yet to be improved.

Very affordable cloud server solution for people who can set up their own servers. There are quite a lot of regions (but sadly no Frankfurt) as well as a lot of templates to get started quickly with the servers, including Coolify, which allows you to run a PaaS inside Hetzner without too much hassle.

• Sometimes the group settings tab lags a little
• Although overall it's easy to use, some of the sections lack documentation
• Routes section is very poorly implemented, requires a lot of digging to learn how to use

• No-downtime upgrade - lately we've had 2 forced downtimes because of planned maintenance, which is not very nice, but we managed.
• Managed databases would be amazing.
• Any kind of PAAS for running containerized apps (even though I think that's past what they want to be).

VPC is a difficult concept to grasp and recommendations for configuring it would be helpful in educating the users to make the right choice while using the product in configuring networking for their cloud deployments. Also, the user interface can be intuitively designed so as to suggest templates to perform common configurations with regard to VPC.

I think the UI is best-in-class, really. The UX is very though-through and nothing is missing or out of place. Kudos to their designer. Design is great, but they also have a CLI, which could be quite handy for AI agents. I think it has the foundation to scale the offering into something great, given the quality of everything they put out.

Google VPC and networking infrastructure is very matured and is built later after Amazon VPC. It made sure to address all the limitations faced by amazon VPC. Google Virtual private cloud is across regions while amazon VPC covers only one region but multiple zones. Google VPC is a global resource while AWS is a regional resource.

We chose it because of price, because it's like 5-6 times cheaper while offering top-tier features and quality for a SAAS business. Also, we observed that they kept adding new features, so we were sure we could stick with them (Volumes, Private Networks, and other features were added after we had already become customers).

• Using Google Cloud VPC cloud storage has saved us on infra budget and per TB storage cost
• Using MySQL databases on Google Cloud VPC has improved the performance and cost of operation and maintenance
• Better pricing model has improvement on operational cost and increased revenue

• Hetzner allowed us to retain great margins on our business.
• Hetzner allowed us to experiment with various self-hosted tools to safe money.
• It allows us to run the fast http servers without breaking the bank.
