Overall Satisfaction with Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
We needed a personal cloud to host our offerings. Based on our necessities I recommended going with Google Cloud VPC. The motive behind the choice was the pricing and the availability of their carrier and google's pay-as-you-pass model. We had been capable of hosting their utility and statistics at decreased prices in GCP throughout numerous vicinity and zones. Lastly, it's extremely easy to use.
- Fast networking across different geographical zones
- Very scalable and flexible
- Shared VPC connections
- Sometimes the group settings tab lags a little
- Although overall it's easy to use, some of the sections lack documentation
- Routes section is very poorly implemented, requires a lot of digging to learn how to use
- It did solve a lot of issues regarding accessibility from different geographical zones.
- Since the cost is lower, we did save a lot in comparison with the on-site deployments.
- Although we had to train a few people, we were easily to able to get work done quickly after that.
I think it stacks up pretty well against them. Although, I think there is room for improvement considering their UI is sometimes a bit laggy. Since it's a lot easier to use than it's competitors, I feel that this particular feature makes it a better choice for new and upcoming organizations.
